G3 Ascension Research Tree
In this release we are introducing the new Ascension Research Tree for G3 Commanders, making it easier to track your progress through main parts of the game and discover new upgrade opportunities along your journey.

This tree can be seen as the player’s guide through the game and a way to achieve their next progression goals- a way to earn FKR ships, important specialty ships, valuable Officer Crews which are key for playing the game and improve some other key specialty ship loops. Take on new Elite FKR Hostiles appearing in existing FKR systems. These offer improved rep and the way to advance through Ascension Tree, which will ultimately in its expansion be key for players to ascend to higher grades.
Research Tree Progression
Progression in the Ascension Tree uses a new resource called Ascension Particles, earned by exchanging the loot from the new Elite FKR Hostiles in the FKR faction stores.
Players can choose to engage with multiple factions to progress through the tree faster. So if players choose to engage with all 3 FKR hostile types, they can claim rewards for all three core factions: Federation, Klingon and Romulan.
The Ascension Tree includes rewards such as:
- Botany Bay sourcing & mission which unlocks the Augment Faction and provides the Botany Bay Ship
- Selected Ship Blueprints
- Selected Officer Shards
- FKR PvP Buffs
- Station Buffs
- Additional progression rewards
- Franklin, Vi’dar, Stella, Voyager
- Upon claiming the node players will get extra bundles in their respective refineries with their unique ship parts
- More to come for this tree in future releases – including Ascension Tokens
Progressing through the tree will accelerate ranking key officers and obtaining FKR faction ships as well as specialty ships like the Stella and Cube alongside providing additional bonus sources for their parts.

Elite Assassins
Elite Assassins are the creme de la creme of the main faction forces, much tougher than regular patrol ships or fighters. They pack a punch and are lethal if attacked by the wrong ship, having honed their skills to exploit the weaknesses of certain ships.
Assassin Special Abilities
These hostiles are built around faction-counter gameplay and require players to use an opposing faction FKR ship.
For example, Elite Federation Assassins can be targeted by any Klingon or Romulan Faction Ship, such as the D3 or Legionary, Bortas or Centurion, B’Rel or Gladius, and D4 or Augur.
Specialty ships not tied to those factions such as the U.S.S. Reliant, U.S.S. Voyager and U.S.S. Franklin do not count as core FKR ships. These ships, along with FKR ships from the same faction as the Elite Assassin, will be quickly destroyed in battle with these new hostiles.

Bug Fixes
Hostiles
- The tooltip for Deidamia’s Battleship has been updated to state that it deals 50% Hyperthermic Decay Damage each round. Previously, it stated that it dealt 10% Hyperthermic Damage at the start of combat. This change applies to both Academy Space and Duo Wave Defense.
- The tooltip for Venari Ral Hostiles has been updated to state that they deal 25% Hyperthermic Decay Damage each round. Previously, it stated that they dealt 10% Hyperthermic Damage at the start of combat. This change applies only to Venari Ral Hostiles in Academy Space and not in Duo Wave Defense.
- The U.S.S. Athena continues to nullify the Hyperthermic Decay ability, and this behavior remains unchanged.
- Venari Ral Hostiles in Duo Wave Defense continue to deal 10% Hyperthermic Decay Damage each round, and this behavior remains unchanged.
- Please note that these updates do not change the behavior or damage values of any hostiles. This is a tooltip-only update to ensure the in-game descriptions accurately reflect existing functionality.
Systems
- Fixed an issue where ships entering the Mirror Universe via Spatial Rip could incorrectly display a functional Instant Recall button after traveling through a Mirror Universe portal. The button will now correctly reflect the ship’s Mirror Universe status and no longer appear interactable when recall is unavailable.
Officers
- Updated Deidamia’s officer art so the inner portion of her outfit correctly appears brown instead of blue, matching her in-game character image.
Player Titles
- Resolved an issue where a blue line could appear above Player Titles in the Academy Refinery.
Missions
- Fixed an issue in Combat Strategy 102 Part 2 where the Objective 2 mission tracker displayed the hostile level instead of the number of targets required to complete the objective.
Wave Defense
- Addressed an issue where the Repair Drone buff UI was not displayed in Galaxy View or on the Ship Management screen after defeating a Repair Drone during Duo Wave Defense. (Ready For QA)
- Addressed an issue where the Simulation Codes button could overlap with the Defend button text in the Duo Wave Defense object viewer within Academy Duo Wave Defense systems.
- Resolved an issue where, if two players attempted to start a Solo Wave Defense at the same time, one player could incorrectly see a Join button after the other player had already successfully initiated the encounter.
- Resolved an issue where the Central Entity’s health could become permanently stuck at 50 HP during Duo Wave Defense after changing the game language.
Buildings
- Resolved an issue where players with an Independent Archive above Level 71 could no longer receive Archive Data Shards from the daily claim, preventing progression through Independent Archive Mastery loops. The daily claim now correctly scales beyond Level 71.
Ships
- Fixed an issue on the Borg Sphere Ship Management screen where the Level Up text could overlap with the ship XP display, particularly when the XP value was shown in abbreviated decimal format.
- Resolved an issue where an extra ability icon could incorrectly appear on the Borg Sphere Ship Management screen while the ship was warping.
Refinery
- Updated bundle text in the Academy Refinery to correctly display a Locked tag on bundles that require the U.S.S. Athena to be constructed before they can be accessed.
Infinite Incursions
- Fixed an issue during Infinite Incursions where players transferring to a different server could be unable to cross over while still having their transfer tokens deducted.
Translations
- Resolved an issue on iOS and Android devices where, in Japanese, research descriptions in the Research Tree could appear with the top portion of the text cut off.
- Addressed an issue on iOS and Android devices where, in Japanese, Korean, and Russian, several Forbidden Tech names could overlap with the image box below due to increased text spacing.
