“Soran doesn’t care about weapons or power. He just cares about getting back to the Nexus.”

As the Q Continuum arc advances into Part 2, Star Trek Fleet Command is excited to unveil the Explorer Retaliation Squad! Building on last month’s Interceptor Retaliation Squad, this new team is crafted to give you the upper hand in battles against Commanders utilizing Explorers. Let’s dive into the details of these formidable new officers and how they can enhance your fleet.
Meet the Explorer Retaliation Squad
Soran
- Captain Maneuver: Time is the Fire
At the start of each round against players, Soran has a 40% chance to apply the Burning status effect to the enemy ship for 1 round. - Officer Ability: Toothless Predator
When facing player Explorers afflicted with Burning, Soran increases your Apex Barrier by 10,000/12,000/14,000/15,000/16,000 for 5 rounds.
Soran, the villainous El-Aurian from Star Trek: Generations, leads the Explorer Retaliation Squad. His Captain Maneuver applies the Burning status, activating the team’s Officer Abilities, while his own ability provides a substantial Apex Barrier to protect against enemy Explorers.
Effective Crew Combinations with Soran:
- Strike Team La’an / Strike Team Una / Soran:
A powerful offensive setup for Battleships, featuring shot boosting and shield mitigation reduction, enhanced by Soran’s robust defenses against Explorers. - Georgiou / Tyler / Soran:
This combination leverages Tyler’s offense boost and Soran’s defense enhancements, ideal for attrition-based battles on any ship type.
Miss Q
- Officer Ability: An Old Flame
At the start of each round against players affected by Burning, Miss Q increases your Isolytic Cascade damage by 50%/60%/75%/95%/120% for 3 rounds. - Below Decks Ability: Remodulate the Shields!
When starting a round on a ship with Morale against players, Miss Q increases your Apex Barrier by 7,000/8,000/10,000/12,000/15,000 for 1 round.
First appearing in Star Trek: Voyager, Miss Q is the mother of the mischievous Q Junior. On this team, she significantly boosts your Isolytic Cascade against Burning-affected ships and provides defensive support with her Below Decks Ability when your ship has Morale. This makes her highly effective alongside the Explorer Strike Team or the Interceptor Retaliation Squad.
Effective Crew Combinations with Miss Q:
- Strike Team La’an / Shax / Miss Q:
Maximize Isolytic Cascade offense, achieving the highest possible damage boost on a Battleship. - Carol Freeman / Georgiou / Miss Q:
This versatile setup matches the offensive power of the above combination but works on any ship type. - TOS Kirk / TOS Uhura / Ransom | Miss Q Lower Decks:
A formidable offensive lineup with Kirk and Uhura ramping up firepower, complemented by Ransom’s Isolytic Damage bonus and Miss Q’s protective barrier.
Romi
- Officer Ability: Flaming Shots
At the start of each round against players affected by Burning, Romi increases your Isolytic Defense by 100%/120%/140%/170%/200% for 3 rounds. - Below Decks Ability: Active Listening
On round start against players affected by Hull Breach, Romi increases your Apex Barrier by 7000/8000/10,000/12,000/15,000 for 1 round.
Introduced last month as part of the Q Continuum arc, Romi is another El-Aurian like Soran. Her abilities focus entirely on defense, providing the largest boost to Isolytic Defense when combating Burning-affected enemies. Combined with Soran’s Apex Barrier, Romi ensures maximum protection. Her Below Decks Ability further enhances defense against Hull Breach-affected ships, making her an excellent support officer for the Interceptor Strike Team or ships running Carol Freeman, Lorca, and Honorguard Worf.
Effective Crew Combinations with Romi:
- Strike Team La’an / Strike Team Ortegas / Romi:
A solid defensive setup for Battleships, with Ortegas delaying enemy fire and Romi minimizing isolytic damage. - Carol Freeman / Georgiou / Romi:
A defensive variant of the Carol Freeman setup, ideal for handling high isolytic damage on any ship type.
