Introducing the Independent Archives

By Bek 1 November 2024

Commanders, the time has come for a significant evolution in your Star Trek Fleet Command journey. With the upcoming Update 72: Q Continuum Pt 1, we’re thrilled to unveil the Independent Archives—a groundbreaking building designed to simplify your daily activities, reduce grind, and enhance your overall gameplay experience.

We Heard You: Simplifying the Fleet Command Experience

In Star Trek Fleet Command there are numerous ships to unlock, hostiles to defeat, and rewards to claim on a daily basis. While this abundance enriches the gameplay, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. To alleviate some of that struggle, we are introducing the Independent Archives.

What are the Independent Archives?

The Independent Archives is a new building that brings significant quality-of-life improvements to your gameplay. It addresses common challenges such as:

  • Excessive grind: Reduce repetitive tasks associated with multiple ships.
  • Time consumption: Minimize the time spent collecting numerous daily bundles.
  • New player experience: Help newcomers become acquainted with key ship loops through a simplified system.

Say hello to faster progression, less grind, amazing buffs, and fewer clicks!

The Independent Archives is a feature designed to provide significant quality of life improvements for all currently Archive-supported ships. It aims to address the challenges players face when having to engage with too many ships at once, the excessive grind on a per-ship basis, and the considerable time spent collecting daily bundles. Additionally, the Independent Archives are aimed to help new players become better acquainted with the Archive-supported loops while enjoying a simpler experience.

How to Build and Upgrade the Independent Archives

Independent Archives Unlock Key

Starting at Operations Level 16, you can construct the Independent Archives by obtaining the Independent Archives Key from a free bundle claim in the Gifts section. To upgrade the building, you’ll need Independent Archives Schematics, which enhance the building’s capabilities.

Upgrade Buffs Include:

  • Station Module Non-Sigma Resource Cost Efficiency
  • Station Module Sigma [Σ] Resource Cost Efficiency
  • Station Module Materials Cost Efficiency
  • Chaos Tech Level-Up Cost Efficiency
  • Chaos Tech Tier-Up Cost Efficiency
  • Archive Data Shard Free Claim

These buffs scale with the building’s level, providing increased benefits as you progress.

Navigating the Independent Archives

Botany Bay

Once the building is constructed, you gain access to the Archives and can unlock various Archive Tracks. For example, the Botany Bay track becomes available at Operations Level 18.

How It Works:

  1. Unlock Archive Tracks: Access specific ship tracks relevant to your progression.
  2. Meet Requirements: Complete tasks and milestones associated with each track.
  3. Unlock Archive Pillars: Use Archive Data Shards to unlock pillars within each track.
  4. Gain Buffs: Each unlocked pillar grants both track-specific and general buffs, enhancing efficiency and reducing grind.
  5. Master the Track: Upon unlocking the final pillar, you master the track, consolidating all end-point bundles into a single daily claim.

Mastering Tracks for Ultimate Convenience

Mastering a track offers the significant advantage of merging all related daily rewards into one “Claim All” button within the Independent Archives. This feature drastically reduces the number of clicks and time spent on routine tasks.

If you’ve completed all currently supported five tracks, all their rewards can be collected with a single click!

Currently Supported Ships and Buffs

The Independent Archives currently supports several key ships:

  • Botany Bay
  • Vi’dar
  • Vi’dar Talios
  • USS Voyager
  • Monaveen

Each ship comes with its own set of buffs and efficiencies, enhancing your fleet’s performance and power level.

A Gift to All Commanders

To celebrate the launch, we’re including the Botany Bay track as a day-one gift for all players in this Q Continuum arc—and it will remain available for all players indefinitely. We are taking strides to improve your gaming experience, especially concerning older in-game content and loops.

Our Commitment to Enhancing Your Experience

The Independent Archives represent the first step in our mission to streamline your interaction with the game. Our goals are to:

  • Simplify progression: Make it easier to advance through the game.
  • Enhance engagement: Allow you to interact with new content more meaningfully.
  • Increase enjoyment: Reduce grind and routine tasks so you can focus on what you enjoy.
