Entry to G7 begins with the Vengeance. During Villains Pt 2, you’ll follow a four-week cadence designed to move you toward it over time:

  •  Weekly event
  • Scoring includes G6/G7 materials Uncommon+ and Dauntless currencies
  • Weekly event
  • Scoring includes G6/G7 materials Uncommon+ and Dauntless currencies
  • Twice-weekly event
  • Scoring includes G6/G7 materials Uncommon+ and Dauntless currencies
  • Rewards are extended to 25th place
  • Same server pairings and scoring as September runs
  • Targeted at players with T14 (or below) Vengeance

Keep an eye on your in-game news and event schedule for additional information or changes to these events.

*While not required to engage with G7, the U.S.S. Vengeance is balanced to help progression.

New Features & Content

G7 Space expands the galaxy with 146 new systems78 in the shared, cross-server Veil and 68 in The Margins, which behaves like normal expansion space and is limited to your server unless Incursions are active. The Veil is where different realities collide; G7 players from multiple servers will enter this shared region to progress, compete, and cooperate. Core progression content lives here, including FKR hostiles, G7 mines, and Veil-specific daily goals, and outside of Solo and ALB events, all G7 leaderboards are Regional. There is no station housing in the Veil; ships access it directly via Galaxy View.

  • Core progression Faction systems with FKR hostiles
  • G7 Mines
  • Veilshards
  • Regional Leaderboards
  • Three system clusters for different ship rarity tiers
  • Access the Veil via a floaty in Galaxy View (ship-only access, no station relocation)
  • Seamlessly control ships across multiple servers
  • Recalling a ship always brings it home, no matter where it is

The Margins sit at the edge of the known galaxy. Once sparse and quiet, they are now home to the Aeonians—an original species that fled a dying world and claims the region as its own. The influx of newcomers, including refugees from another dimension, has turned this frontier into a refuge under strain and a flashpoint for rising tensions.

Communication and navigation in shared space get a lift with The Veil Chat, which unlocks at Ops 70 and provides a dedicated tab to coordinate with Commanders from connected servers. Veil access is handled through a simple overlay in Galaxy View; ships move between the Veil and the existing galaxy like any other system jump, and locating/switching loads quickly.

To help you find appropriate targets, Veil systems are organized into three clusters aligned to different level brackets by ship rarity tier. Across both new regions, multi-faction systems are clearly marked in Galaxy View and labeled in the system viewer, so you always know when two or even three factions are present.

Surge

Surges are unstable spatial phenomena tied to the anomaly at the heart of the Veil. Within them lurk Surgewalkers—twisted beings from other dimensions. Any G7 player can start a Surge by activating a Hostile Spawner in eligible systems, kicking off a fast three-minute alliance activity as enemies spawn and grow stronger based on the alliance score. Any alliance member can jump in to earn points until the timer expires. Rewards scale with both alliance totals and individual contributions, and the initiating G7 player receives additional bonus points for starting the event. Surges are designed for quick participation with meaningful payouts and frequent reasons to rally your team.

Here’s a brief rundown of how Surge works:

  • Duration:  3 minutes + 1 minute warm up timer
  • Who starts it: Only a G7 player can trigger it using Veilshards in Surge space, but anyone in the alliance can join in
  • How it works: Hostiles will spawn over the duration of the activity, and grow stronger based on the alliance score. Alliance members defeat them to rack up points before the timer runs out.
  • Rewards: Everyone earns rewards based on both total alliance points and their individual contribution. The initiating G7 player gains additional bonus points for starting the activity.

FKR Extension, Sigma Credit, and Sub-factions

Federation, Klingon, and Romulan progression extends with six new reputation levels and the introduction of Sigma Faction Credits, used for G7 blueprints and other Faction Store items. For the first time, multi-faction systems appear in both The Veil and The Margins, mixing hostiles from two or even three factions in a single location. You’ll also encounter three new sub-factions defined by their struggle to belong: the Forsaken, the Order of Ganmadan, and House Sov, a Klingon house that values knowledge over strength and must prove its worth on the frontier.

  • The Forsaken – A Federation offshoot formed by those who were not accepted within the utopia, building a society to prove they can thrive both to the Federation and to themselves.
  • The Order of Ganmadan – A splinter group of the Zhat Vash seeking redemption by hunting the synths that inhabit this region.
  • House Sov – An unorthodox Klingon house that values knowledge over military might. Out of favor with the Empire, they’ve been sent to colonize the Margins and prove their worth.

Each group begins as outsiders striving for recognition, but evolves toward independence, carving out their own place in The Margins and breaking free from the shadow of higher powers.

Missions

G7 adds 222 new missions to the galaxy—42 core missions, 43 faction side missions for each major faction, and 51 neutral side missions. The core storyline centers on the Margins as a dimensional anomaly drags ships and species into our galaxy, forcing Commanders to stabilize chaos while navigating fragile local politics. Meanwhile, the Veil—once an accident of travel—has become a contested hotspot as factions race to secure territory and harvest Veilshards, the rare resource needed to unlock Surges. Through a dedicated mission chain, you’ll follow a couple stranded in the Veil after a failed propulsion test and help them find their way home to reunite with the daughter they left behind.

G7 Research and Materials

The Combat Research Tree expands with 65 new nodes that are deliberately front-loaded to give Commanders a strong power boost when stepping into G7. These upgrades support both PvP and PvE—covering hostiles, Armadas, and player combat—and include powerful buffs gated behind Surge participation. To support the grade, new refineries, mining nodes, ship parts, and updated station repair costs round out the economic side of the expansion.

G7 introduces its own set of grade-specific resources while continuing to use the Sigma timers and resources (introduced in G6). Required materials include:

  • G7 Raw Ore, Gas, and Crystal
  • G7 Common, Uncommon, and Rare Ore, Gas, and Crystal
  • G7 Broken Ship Parts (Battleship, Explorer, Survey, Interceptor)
  • G7 Common, Uncommon, and Rare Ship Parts (Battleship, Explorer, Survey, Interceptor)

New Ships

The shipyard grows substantially. G7 space welcomes the Aphelion, a rare non-faction Survey vessel. FKR factions each receive a new uncommon—U.S.S. Socrates, Praefortis, and I.K.S. Boreth—and a new rare—U.S.S. Stargazer, Snakehead, and I.K.S. Ak’Voh. Three powerful epics headline the launch: I.K.S. Gre’Thor, Admonition, and U.S.S. Enterprise M414, an STFC-exclusive starship designed for this expansion.

G7 hostiles hit hard and emphasize secondary stats like Isolytic and Apex, rewarding careful crew selection, targeted research, and coordinated play. Inside Surges, Surgewalkers escalate quickly within the three-minute window, creating short, intense combat bursts that favor tight alliance coordination. Across the new systems, FKR hostiles appear in both standard and multi-faction environments to broaden target variety and tactical choices.

Keeping Space for Future Design

There are no new officer releases in this G7 expansion drop. As noted above, to preserve challenge in upper-end encounters, a small set of long-standing officer synergies is capped only against level 71+ targets (no changes at 70 and below): Christopher Pike, Marlena Moreau, Jean-Luc Picard (TNG), John Harrison, Harry Mudd (Discovery), Harry Mudd, Eurydice, Leonard McCoy, and Gaila.

The U.S.S. Dauntless is tuned for normal-space hostile hunting, so it isn’t intended for G7. The Dauntless keeps your normal-space hostile grinding rolling on its own, so you can spend your attention progressing through G7. The Borg Cube will not be receiving additional tiers with the expansion of G7. We’ll keep supporting the ship through events and balance where needed.

We are working on our plan to deliver G5 scrapping, and we will update the STFC Community once we have additional details.

G7 is more than “more space”—it’s a new way the galaxy connects. Rally your alliance for quick-hit Surges, master the shared arenas of the Veil, and claim your stake in the Margins. The journey into this frontier is just beginning, and the choices you make now will define the future of every Commander. Good luck out there.

Live Long and Prosper,

-The Star Trek Fleet Command Team
