- And more!
New Quality of Life Improvements
We’re introducing several Quality of Life improvements in Update 72, including a Smart Speed-Up Button, Improved Mission Panel UI, an improvement to Location Navigation, and Support for Deep-Linking Systems in Mission Descriptions.
Smart Speed-Up Button
A new “Smart Speed-Up” button is available on Speed-Up popups for:
- Building
- Research
- Ship Repair
- Ship Construction
- Away Teams
Tapping the Smart Speed-Up button calculates the optimal number of Speed-Ups to consume and displays them in a confirmation popup. A “Do not show this message again” checkbox is available for those who wish to bypass the confirmation in the future. Confirming the automatic selection consumes the Speed-Ups and executes the action.
Improved Mission Panel UI
The Mission Panel now boasts a cleaner look, as missions are now divided into categories:
- Favorites
- Main Missions
- Federation
- Klingon
- Romulan
- General
Location Navigation Mechanism Improvement
- What’s changed: Tapping any deep-linked button tied to an undiscovered system will now automatically select the target area. The system popup will appear without needing to tap the undiscovered system itself, making navigation smoother and more intuitive..
Support for Deep-Linking Systems in Mission Descriptions
We can now deep-link systems in mission descriptions! This helps in guiding players more effectively when completing missions, streamlining the mission experience and reducing confusion about where to go next.
Syndicate Expansion Negative Reputation
There is now a toggle next to the “Claim All” button in the Daily Goals menu, allowing players to exclude Negative Rep from the Claim All button. The Toggle will only be shown to players who have the Claim All button enabled for them.
- When “ON”, ALL daily goals will be collected.
- When “OFF”, only Daily Goals with no Negative Rep should be collected.
- Includes icons for all 3 factions.
Independent Archives
You’ve asked for it, we’ve been working on it, and now it’s here. The ever-expanding universe of Star Trek Fleet Command means there are countless ships to unlock, hostiles to defeat, and rewards to claim daily. We understand this can sometimes feel overwhelming. To alleviate some of that struggle, we’re introducing the Independent Archives. Say hello to faster progression, reduced grind, amazing generic buffs, and fewer clicks!
We talked a lot about the Independent Archives here in this blog, as well as in a previously released video on our YouTube.
What is the Independent Archives Building?
The Independent Archives is an engagement-supporting building designed to provide significant quality-of-life improvements for all currently Archive-supported ships. It aims to address the challenges of:
- Having to engage with too many ships at once.
- Excessive grind on a per-ship basis.
- Spending too much time collecting daily bundles.
Additionally, the Independent Archives should help new players become better acquainted with the Archive-supported loops while enjoying a less grindy experience.
Building Information
The Independent Archives can be built using the Independent Archives Key, available as a free bundle claim in the Gifts section at Operations Level 16. The building can be upgraded with Independent Archives Schematics, and provides the following buffs that scale with its level:
- Station Module Non-Sigma Resource Cost Efficiency
- Station Module Sigma [Σ] Resource Cost Efficiency
- Station Module Material Cost Efficiency
- Chaos Tech Level-Up Cost Efficiency
- Chaos Tech Tier-Up Cost Efficiency
- Archive Data Shard Free Claim
How It Works

From the devs: We really want to give players a chance to experience this feature, which is why the Botany Bay track will be included not only as a day one gift for all players in this Q Continuum arc, but for all players beyond that point. After a week of free claims, players will be able to reach building level 16, and claim their Botany Bay track, as long as they already own the ship. The Independent Archives represent step one of our mission to enhance your gaming experience related to older in-game content and loops. Our goal is to make it easier for you to progress through the game, interact with new content more meaningfully, and simply enjoy the game even more.
Chaos Tech
Behold the mighty Chaos Tech!
Chaos Tech is a new type of ship equipment, most comparable—but functionally and strategically different—to Forbidden Tech. The Chaos Tech slot can be found and unlocked in the Ship Menu of any ship. Focusing on niche strategies with strong generalist Officer Ability-type effects, this new tech pushes players to strategize in new ways, both in PvE and PvP encounters.
Chaos Tech complements and, when used strategically, reinforces existing Forbidden Tech, which boasts stronger general bonuses. Unlike Forbidden Tech, Chaos Tech provides immediate power upon acquisition. Upgrading Chaos Tech equipment does not have a success chance—every Level Up or Tier Up is guaranteed!
Essential Resources
- Chaos Tech Fusion Rods: Used to unlock Chaos Tech slots or remove Chaos Tech from ships.
- Chaos Tech Tier-Up Catalyst: Used to Tier Up Chaos Tech.
- Chaosmatter: Used to Level Up Chaos Tech.
- Chaos Tech Reactor: Used to upgrade Chaos Tech.
- Chaos Tech Fragments: Granted when earning shards over the maximum for a Chaos Tech (refined into Chaos Tech upgrade materials).
