Leveling up The Signal Observatory
The Signal Observatory functions as a subspace listening array that consolidates both emerging and legacy transmission technologies, introducing a new meta-progression layer tied to the V’Ger Challenge Track. By tying Signal Observatory upgrades directly into the V’Ger gameplay loop, it enhances the Challenge Track experience and makes each run progressively more rewarding through increased Challenge Credit earnings. These additional credits unlock greater access to Solo Outpost and Elite Solo Outpost Directives, Prototype Tech shards, Signal Observatory Schematics, and more in the Challenge Refinery.
As the building is upgraded, it increases Challenge and FKR Credit rewards, improves payout scaling at key milestones, and unlocks increasingly valuable Challenge Refinery Gifts with each track reset, with additional reward increases at levels 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 75.
These upgrades also unlock a steady stream of milestone rewards that expand both combat and daily progression options. Every 10 building levels gives a gift, including Prototype Tech shards for the Neural Neutralizer, which strengthens Outpost performance through increased survivability, damage output, and Apex Barrier effectiveness against Node Outpost threats.
Early Observatory levels broaden access to Outpost content by adding Solo Outpost Directives to the Challenge Refinery at level 10 and Elite Solo Outpost Directives at level 20. At higher levels, the Observatory opens additional progression paths, including free daily access to the V’Ger Bounty Challenge at level 71, allowing Commanders to earn Challenge Track Points without relying on store contracts.
Observatory Gifts can also contain Veil Warp Tolls, which unlock access to Veil Toll space, high-level systems featuring enhanced resource nodes. These Warp Tolls are further supported through the Challenge Refinery for qualified Commanders, ensuring consistent access as you push deeper into late-game V’Ger content.

Additional rewards include Solo and Elite Solo Outpost Directives, Signal Observatory Schematics, and G7 Uncommon Station Material cost-efficiency artifacts like Nog’s Cane, Ezri’s Exographic Targeting Sensor, and Sisko’s Romulan Ale Glass.
