Commanders,
Today we are acting on your feedback with a concrete change to Solo Outposts and the in-game experience around them: Outposts are now Always On, and we are adjusting our event schedule to put access and clarity first. Below we explain what is changing now, why we are doing it, and how we plan to evolve the experience over time.
Why this change
Some past initiatives missed on timing, clarity, or follow through. To serve the player experience, we are willing to adjust our content roadmap when the data and your feedback show a better path. Always On Outposts is a direct result of that approach.

Cadence, clarity, and trust
Players have raised clear concerns about uncertain future cadence, and it is hard to invest fully in a feature without knowing if or when it returns. In the past we set cadences and later adjusted them, with Sarris Invasions as a recent example, which understandably created skepticism about whether content will return as initially described. Trust is earned by action, so we are taking action now by shifting Outposts to Always On to reduce uncertainty about access; we will continue to act, measure, and communicate as the feature evolves.
What is changing now
Outposts are now officially Always On. You can engage with Solo Outposts whenever you have Outpost Strike Directives, and they will no longer disappear between arcs.
Monthly engagement continues. Our Live Ops team is currently working on a focused set of Outpost events each month, and the Outpost Battle Pass is planned to return on a recurring schedule; exact timing and length are still under evaluation. Our goal for the Outpost Battle Pass is for it to provide players with a similar experience in terms of the core loop and objectives, but the duration, cadence, and reward quantities are still an ongoing discussion. Further details will be called out in our patch notes as well as the In Game News.

Directive sourcing may change. Outpost Strike Directives will continue to be sourced through regular play and events, including the Outpost Battle Pass; we are evaluating cadence to balance access and engagement. If event or Battle Pass timing changes, directive sourcing will be adjusted accordingly and communicated clearly. Players will continue to receive directives on a regular basis; the frequency has not yet been determined.
How the experience will evolve
Events will iterate. Expect Outpost meta events and Outpost hold events across multiple layers, with a focus on alliance interaction and solo engagement. Details may change as we refine the experience.
Cadence favors access and clarity. With Outposts Always On, the player is in control of when they choose when to run them. Recurring events create moments of focus; we will update event structures as we learn.
Design intent and long term view
Solo Outposts are a core feature. They support core progression by rewarding investment in your Federation, Klingon, and Romulan (FKR) ships, broadly useful Officers, Research, and more. Outposts are a meaningful source of resources, materials, and other rewards.

December is not a silver bullet. We do not plan to fully resolve Solo Outpost difficulty in December with a new ship; we intend to introduce impactful Outpost specialized tools in December, and Solo Outposts will remain a challenging experience into the first half of 2026.
Team based expansions are ahead. Solo Outposts are a starting point, and future updates are expected to add more team oriented ways to engage.
A note on expectations
The details in this post reflect our plan today, and as we learn more, we may adjust. When plans change, we will communicate clearly.
Thank you for your feedback and for helping us shape this feature.
Live Long and Prosper,
-The Star Trek Fleet Command Team
