Alliance Tournaments return on July 16 following the pause announced during Update 90. During the pause, we reviewed your feedback and took a closer look at Tasks, rewards, re-rolls, and how the feature was working across different Grades.
Based on that review, we’ve made changes to Task requirements, re-rolls, Store rewards, and which Tasks appear for different Grades.
Alliance Tournaments were created to give Alliances a shared way to compete and progress together. However, the changes in Update 90 introduced Task requirements and reward structures that did not provide the experience we intended.
Your feedback made it clear that we needed to take another look at Tasks, premium requirements, re-rolls, and overall accessibility before the feature returned. Some of the Premium Task requirements introduced in Update 90 went too far. We’ve removed those Tasks, and requirements at that level will not return.
This update introduces the first major iteration of Alliance Tournaments. We’ve made several changes based on your feedback, but some parts of the Update 90 structure will remain, including limited re-rolls and Premium Tasks. Below, we’ll walk through what is changing, what is staying, and what you can expect when Alliance Tournaments return.
What Is Changing & What is Staying
What is Changing
For the July 16 return:
- The excessive premium purchase requirements introduced in Update 90 have been removed.
- The maximum number of stored re-rolls will increase from 40 to 60.
- Certain Tasks will award additional re-rolls when completed.
- Reputation Bundles will return to the Alliance Tournament Store while remaining available in the Legendary Store*
- Tasks will be organized into new categories and presented based on Grade eligibility.
*An earlier version of this blog had a note regarding the terminology in this line. The accuracy of the wording was confirmed. July 10th, 2026.
What Is Staying
- The limited re-roll system introduced in Update 90 will remain.
- Premium Tasks will remain as part of Alliance Tournaments, but the excessive requirements introduced in Update 90 will not return.
- Existing Heroic Tasks will return with their previous requirements, although some will only appear for certain Grades.
Re-Rolls
We’re increasing the number of re-rolls you can hold from 40 to 60, giving you more flexibility over when to use them.
Re-rolls are meant to give players more choice without allowing Tasks to be refreshed endlessly until a specific one appears. We’ll review how they are used during the July run and make further adjustments if needed.
In addition, several new task categories will now award extra re-rolls, giving active players more opportunities to refresh their task selection.
Reputation Bundles
Reputation Bundles will once again be available for Alliance Tournament Credits. They will also remain available for Legendary Credits, giving players another option for how to purchase them.
What Comes Next
These will not be the final changes to Alliance Tournaments. After the July run, we will review Task completion, re-roll usage, Grade eligibility, Alliance participation, and player feedback to identify where further adjustments are needed.
Our goal is to make participation feel worthwhile while ensuring that Alliance Tournament rewards remain sustainable and do not disrupt progression elsewhere in the game.
A New Task Structure
Alliance Tournament Tasks will now appear within four broader groups, containing six different Task types:
- Legacy Standard Tasks
- Legacy Heroic Tasks
- Seasonal Standard Tasks
- Seasonal Advanced Tasks
- Seasonal Elite Tasks
- Premium Tasks
Each category serves a different purpose and is designed to support players at different stages of progression.
Regarding re-rolls: Seasonal Advanced Tasks will award one re-roll when completed, Seasonal Elite Tasks will award two, and Premium Tasks will award three.
Note: Alliance Tournament Credit amounts listed below are the Master League reward. Lower leagues award smaller amounts.
Legacy Standard Tasks (5,000 Alliance Points)
Legacy Standard Tasks will now award more Alliance Points and provide Alliance Tournament Credits.
Previously, the lowest-value tasks awarded fewer Alliance Points and did not provide Alliance Tournament Credits. With this update, they will provide more Alliance members with a way to contribute points and earn Alliance Tournament Credits.
Completing an Legacy Standard Task now rewards:
- 5,000 Alliance Points
- 275 Alliance Tournament Credits
They do not award:
- Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits
- Additional re-rolls
Legacy Standard Tasks are available to players from Grade 2 onward and focus on regular gameplay and resources that players may already be collecting or saving. Their goal is to encourage participation across every level of an Alliance while helping more players begin earning Credits toward rewards in the Alliance Tournaments Store.
Legacy Heroic & Seasonal Standard Tasks (10,000 Alliance Points)
This category combines familiar Heroic Tasks with a new set of Seasonal Tasks that highlight newer gameplay systems.
Legacy Heroic Tasks
These are the existing 10,000-point Tasks from previous Alliance Tournaments.
They continue to reward:
- 10,000 Alliance Points
- 4,400 Alliance Tournament Credits
They do not award:
- Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits
- Additional re-rolls
The requirements and rewards for these Tasks are not changing in this update. Some can be completed through previously saved gameplay resources, while others may require premium resource acquisition.
We will continue reviewing how these Tasks perform alongside the new Seasonal Task options. These are separate from the excessive premium Tasks introduced in Update 90, which have been removed and will not return.
The balance of these tasks remains unchanged from previous Alliance Tournaments. They are intended for players who choose to pursue higher-investment objectives.
Legacy Heroic Tasks are available from Grade 2 onward.
Seasonal Standard Tasks and Seasonal Tasks
Seasonal Standard Tasks introduce objectives based on recently released game systems and features.
Completing one rewards:
- 10,000 Alliance Points
- 550 Alliance Tournament Credits
- 220 Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits
These tasks do not award additional re-rolls.
Seasonal Standard Tasks will not directly require a purchase and will focus on resources and activities available through gameplay. Some may require players to have participated in or saved resources from the associated content before the Tournament begins. They provide the earliest gameplay-based path for earning Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits.
Depending on the content involved, Seasonal Tasks will generally be available to players from Grade 3 onward. For this return, Seasonal Standard Tasks will include objectives tied to recent content such as Ascension and Academy systems.
Most existing Heroic Tasks will remain in the available Task pool, although eligibility for certain Tasks will now depend on Grade.
Our goal is to let players continue completing the majority of familiar Heroic Tasks while also rewarding engagement with the newest gameplay features.
As we continue iterating on Alliance Tournaments, we’ll also refine what qualifies as “Seasonal” content. For the July return, content introduced in Update 88 or later will be classified as Seasonal.
Seasonal Advanced and Seasonal Elite Tasks (15,000–20,000 Alliance Points)
Seasonal Advanced and Elite Tasks are designed around the newest gameplay systems and seasonal content, rewarding players who actively engage with the latest features.
Seasonal Advanced Tasks
Seasonal Advanced Tasks focus on sustained engagement with newer gameplay loops. Seasonal Advanced Tasks require more gameplay or previously saved resources than Seasonal Standard Tasks. They will not directly require a purchase, but some may depend on regular participation in the related content before the Tournament begins.
They require a greater time investment but are designed to be completed without monetary investment by players who regularly participate in available content.
Completing a Seasonal Advanced Task rewards:
- 15,000 Alliance Points
- 550 Alliance Tournament Credits
- 550 Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits
- 1 Task Re-roll
Seasonal Elite Tasks
Seasonal Elite Tasks are designed around progress and resources accumulated through recent content over several weeks. These Tasks may not be completable from zero during a single Tournament run.
Completing a Seasonal Elite Task rewards:
- 20,000 Alliance Points
- 3,300 Alliance Tournament Credits
- 1,100 Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits
- 2 Task Re-rolls
Like Seasonal Standard Tasks, these objectives will generally target Grade 3 and above, depending on the content involved. Systems such as Ascension are examples of the type of gameplay featured in this category.
Our goal with Seasonal Tasks is to reward players for engaging with the latest content while providing meaningful progression through gameplay.
Premium Tasks (20,000 Alliance Points)
Premium Tasks are designed for players who choose to make purchases associated with the featured content.
Completing a Premium Task rewards:
- 20,000 Alliance Points
- 4,400 Alliance Tournament Credits
- 4,400 Legendary Alliance Tournament Credits
- 3 Task Re-rolls
Premium Tasks provide the strongest overall Alliance Tournament rewards. They match the Alliance Tournament Credits earned from the original Heroic Tasks while offering the highest amount of Legendary Credits available.
Premium Tasks award more points and Credits than individual gameplay-focused Tasks. However, they are not required to participate, and Alliances will have multiple gameplay-based Task categories through which members can contribute.
Grade-Specific Task Segmentation
One of the biggest changes in this update is the introduction of grade-specific task segmentation.
Rather than every player seeing the same pool of objectives, the available Task pool will now be determined on your Grade. The goal is to reduce the number of Tasks tied to content outside a player’s current progression and make the available objectives more relevant to each Grade.
This is an area we’ll continue to iterate on over time, but our goal is straightforward: the Tasks players receive should better reflect the content available and relevant to their progression, rather than feeling pushed toward gameplay loops that aren’t intended for their level.
Grade eligibility was determined by reviewing when content becomes available, how its resources are normally earned, and which progression ranges regularly engage with it. We will continue adjusting those ranges based on completion data and player feedback.
Changes to Existing Heroic Tasks
We know there are several Heroic 10,000-point Tasks that many players are able to complete through regular gameplay, which were originally designed as premium objectives.
Most of these Tasks will return with their previous requirements unchanged.
The following Tasks will continue to be available to all eligible Grades:
- Acquire 6,000 Uncommon Ex-Borg Credits
- Acquire 55,000 Forbidden Tech Protomatter
- Acquire 15,000 Temporal Disruptors
- Acquire 1,500 Uncommon Skill Points
- Acquire 7,000 Galactic Recruit Tokens
The following Tasks will now only appear for Grade 4 and Grade 5 players:
- Acquire 500 Epic Borg Solo Directives
- Acquire 500 Epic Dominion Solo Directives
The Direction for Alliance Tournaments
Alliance Tournaments should give players across different Grades a meaningful way to support their Alliance, while still rewarding planning, coordination, and effort.
As the game grows, Tasks should stay relevant to the content players are engaging with at their Grade. This means the Task lineup will continue to change over time, with newer content added and older Tasks adjusted as needed.
That balance will remain at the center of how we approach Alliance Tournaments moving forward.
New Tasks
This update also introduces a variety of new Seasonal Tasks, expanding the range of objectives available during Alliance Tournaments.
These new Tasks are designed around recently released gameplay systems and are intended to reward active participation with the latest content. Depending on their difficulty, they will appear within the Seasonal Standard, Seasonal Advanced, or Seasonal Elite task categories outlined above.
As we continue to release new features, we’ll regularly add new Seasonal Tasks while refining existing ones to keep Alliance Tournaments feeling fresh and relevant.
Hostile Task Scoring
For Tasks that require you to earn points by defeating Hostiles, points are based on the difference between your level and the Hostile’s level:
- 3 or more levels above you: 21 points
- 2 levels above you: 13 points
- 1 level above you: 8 points
- Same level: 5 points
- 1 level below you: 3 points
- 2 levels below you: 2 points
- 3 or more levels below you: 1 point
Defeating higher-level Hostiles will complete these Tasks more quickly.
The following new Tasks are being introduced:
