The Department of Temporal Investigations

By Bek 6 January 2025

Happy New Year, Commanders! As we usher in 2025, Star Trek Fleet Command is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager with our newest arc: Year of Hell. This exciting update is inspired by one of Voyager’s most intense and iconic storylines, and it brings fresh challenges, the new Department of Temporal Investigations faction, and powerful game features to the galaxy.

Department of Temporal Investigations (DTI)

A new faction arrives on the scene—The Department of Temporal Investigations (DTI)—a group committed to preserving the timeline and stopping any and all temporal anomalies. With the Krenim Imperium threatening the timestream, the DTI steps in to give Commanders the resources they need to defend reality itself.

DTI Faction Benefits

  • Faction Store: Exchange newly obtained resources (Static Wreckage, Charged Wreckage, and Encrypted Intelligence) for powerful buffs, Artifacts, and Chaos Tech.
  • Static-to-Charged Wreckage Converter: If you have surplus Static or Charged Wreckage, you can swap it to suit your current needs.
  • Reputation Control: Earn Encrypted Intelligence from battling Krenim enemies. You can then spend this resource in the DTI store to boost Federation, Klingon, or Romulan (FKR) reputation.

The Krenim Threat: Static and Charged Invading Entities

The Krenim Imperium has launched devastating temporal incursions into the Alpha Quadrant, armed with massive weapon ships and temporal dreadnoughts that can bend time to their will. They arrive in two forms:

Static Krenim Ships

  • Locked in a quantum state, these ships gain cumulative Isolytic Damage with every combat round. You’ll want to use Anti-Static Exocomps from the DTI Faction Store to turn the tide.

Charged Krenim Ships

  • Fueled by experimental quantum warp drives, these ships build an Apex Barrier that grows stronger each round. You’ll need Anti-Charged Exocomps from the DTI Faction Store to break through their defenses.

    Strategic Battles, Shared Progress

    • 17 New Systems: Engage Krenim Invading Entities in designated systems near the Delta Quadrant.
    • Persistent Enemy HP: These hostiles do not regenerate health between battles. Coordinate your attacks with fellow Commanders to slowly chip away at their defenses.
    • Rewards: Collect Static Wreckage and Charged Wreckage from defeated Krenim ships and exchange them in the DTI Faction Store for artifacts, Chaos Tech, and other essential progression items. Plus, earn Encrypted Intelligence to further your reputation with the Federation, Klingons, or Romulans.

    The DTI Headquarters

    Headquarters Benefits

    • Enhanced Combat Buffs: Increase your fleets’ Apex Barrier, Isolytic Defense, and Isolytic Damage, giving you the edge in the escalating Krenim conflict.
    • Upgraded Officer Stats: Gain crucial boosts that help you lead your crews to victory.
    • Improved Drop Rates: Enjoy better yields of Broken Ship Parts to help keep your ships in top shape.

    The Material Converter

A major feature of the DTI Headquarters is the Material Converter—a game-changer for resource management:

    • Unlock Levels: Convert resources starting at Level 30 for G4 materials, Level 40 for G5 materials, and Level 50 for G6.
    • Versatile Conversions: Trade Epic Gas for Epic Ore, or upgrade Rare Ore to Epic Ore, giving you unprecedented control over your critical crafting materials.

Department of Temporal Investigations Special Events & Rewards

To commemorate the launch of the Year of Hell arc and the new DTI Headquarters, Star Trek Fleet Command is rolling out special in-game events that offer unique rewards—even a sneak peek at some valuable Officers.

    DTI Headquarters (Heroic) SMS

    • Runs for a few days in January.
    • Rewards 100 shards of Mirror Universe Picard when you level up your DTI Headquarters to a specific milestone.

    • Challenge yourself to upgrade your DTI Headquarters to designated levels before the deadline.
