Commanders,
With this update, we’re making several changes to G3 progression focused on improving clarity, long-term progression pacing, and daily gameplay engagement. These updates include the introduction of the new Ascension Research Tree, new Elite Federation, Klingon, and Romulan hostiles, and increased progression rates for select ships and factions to help players advance more quickly through active gameplay.
New Search Options
We’re adding new search functionality to help all players navigate more easily. Players will now be able to search in:
- Inventory
- Ship Assignment Menu
- Ship Construction Menu
- Officer Menu
Events and Long-Term Progression
Over time, Events have become an increasingly important part of progression in G3 and G4 gameplay. While Events will continue to remain a major source of progression and rewards, we also want to strengthen long-term progression systems and make them a more meaningful part of the daily player experience.
We are therefore adjusting total weekly event rewards back toward previous levels following recent increases, while shifting more long-term value into permanent progression systems, research, and faction-based gameplay loops.
As part of that effort, we’re introducing several progression improvements across G3 and G4 alongside ongoing updates to event structures in future releases.
Some of these improvements include:
- Reduced G3 and G4 Building timers introduced in Update 90
- Reduced timers on select G4 Research nodes across the Combat, Station, Galaxy, and Ex-Borg trees
- Improved G3 Materials Refinery output arriving in Update 91
- G3 Vault, Generator, and Warehouse values are being increased to improve day-to-day resource generation and storage
We’re also improving progression for several specialty ship systems:
- Amalgam, Sarcophagus, and D’Vor ship parts are now Latinum-convertible
- Selected Botany Bay, Stella, and Vi’dar bundles are being updated to support faster progression
We’ll continue closely monitoring progression pacing and player feedback as these changes roll out.
New Ascension Tree & Elite FKR Hostiles
Additionally, we’re introducing the new Ascension Research Tree. Progression in the Ascension Tree uses a new resource called Ascension Particles, earned by exchanging loot from the new Elite FKR Hostiles in the FKR faction stores. These hostiles can be found in existing FKR systems from levels 30–39.
Elite FKR Hostiles provide improved FKR reputation and progression opportunities tied directly to the Ascension Tree. These hostiles are built around faction-counter gameplay and require players to use an opposing faction FKR ship.
For example:
- Elite Federation Assassins can be targeted using Klingon or Romulan Faction Ships
- Valid ships include:
- D3 or Legionary
- Bortas or Centurion
- B’Rel or Gladius
- D4 or Augur
Specialty ships not tied to those factions, such as the U.S.S. Reliant, U.S.S. Voyager, and U.S.S. Franklin, do not count as core FKR ships. These ships, along with FKR ships belonging to the same faction as the Elite Assassin, will be quickly destroyed in combat against these new hostiles.
Ascension Tree Rewards
The Ascension Tree includes rewards such as:
- Selected Ship Blueprints
- Selected Officer Shards
- FKR PvP Buffs
- Station Buffs
- Additional progression rewards
New FKR Faction Store Bundles
New Ops 30+ FKR Faction Store bundles will also be added containing:
- Reputation
- Credits
- Ascension Particles
FKR Daily Goal Updates
FKR Daily Goals are also being updated so Elite Hostiles will score one additional point per kill on Faction Daily Goals that currently score on regular FKR hostiles in the level 30–39 range.
7 Day Streak with Faction & Gift Bulk Claim
We’re also introducing a new 7-Day Streak feature focused on rewarding consistent engagement. Players with an active streak will unlock expanded Bulk Claim functionality for:
- Factions
- Gifts Section
- Gifts Tab
- Alliance Tab
- Consumables Tab
- Away Teams Tab
Players receive a Daily Streak popup when logging in each day. If the streak expires, players will need to log in consistently for 7 days again to reactivate the benefits.
Together, these updates are intended to create a healthier long-term progression experience across G3 and G4 gameplay while reducing the amount of progression tied solely to daily event participation.
Between the new Ascension Tree, Elite FKR Hostiles, progression improvements, and expanded quality-of-life systems, Update 91 and the Mid-Month Update 91.1 focuses heavily on making progression feel clearer, and easier to manage across multiple gameplay systems.
We’ll continue monitoring player feedback, progression pacing, and overall engagement as these systems roll out and evolve in future releases.
