Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard your feedback loud and clear. The Flashpoint event structure, balance, and delivery fell short of our intentions—and of your expectations. We set out to create something fresh and exciting, but the result missed the mark and impacted your gameplay experience. For that, we sincerely apologize.
In this message, our GM Conor shares a direct update on where we fell short, the changes we’re making immediately, and how we’re shaping the future of Star Trek Fleet Command together with our community.

What’s Changing Now:
- Pausing Flashpoint Events: The original Flashpoint events are on hold as we rework them for better balance, clarity, and enjoyment. We will keep the Flashpoint events as they are for the month of August, and officially pause them after the arc concludes.
- More Focused Events: Reduced noise, more meaningful goals, and events targeted for your specific level range.
- Mid-Game Commander Support: Dedicated content for G3–G4 Commanders to highlight the best of the current game and guide progression into newer content.
- Performance Focus: We’ve expanded the team working on lag and response issues, with a sustained focus on client-side improvements that will bring gradual, lasting benefits over time.
- Recognition of Past Progress: We’re shaping future events and arcs to better reflect and reward the power you’ve built over time, creating more ways for your existing progression to work in your favor.
Looking Ahead:
- More cohesive, focused updates with deliberate intent.
- Increased transparency, including regular communication from our GM on the state of the game.
- Better integration of community feedback into how we build the game.

Q: Why are you pausing the Flashpoint events?
A: Feedback showed that the event balance, structure, and communication did not meet expectations. We are taking the time to rework them for better clarity, rewards, and fun before reintroducing them.
Q: I’ve invested in officers or ships for these events—was it wasted?
A: Your investment still holds value. Officers and ships will remain important for future events and features, and upcoming updates will place greater emphasis on rewarding past progression.
Q: What changes are you making for mid-level Commanders?
A: We are dedicating a portion of our team to create experiences tailored for G3–G4 Commanders, starting in September, with ongoing improvements throughout the year.
Q: When will lag be fixed?
A: While there is no specific date for a complete fix, we are focusing additional resources on client improvements to deliver steady, measurable performance gains over time.
Q: How will you involve the community more?
A: Expect more routine and consistent updates from both our GM & team, and visible ways your feedback shapes upcoming releases.
