Black Ops on Deck: M’Benga & Chapel Tactics

By STFC 6 August 2025

The Flashpoint war against House Hurak isn’t just about Epic Transogen and the Serene Squall—it’s also about the operatives brave enough to board your ships. SNW Black Ops M’Benga and SNW Black Ops Chapel join the roster this month, bringing some of the strongest isolytic and survivability buffs ever released. Below is everything you need to know to crew them effectively, dominate Hurak dropships, and maximize FKR reputation gains.

OfficerRarityOfficer Ability (OA)Tier‑5 ValueBelow‑Deck Ability (BDA)Tier‑5 Value
SNW Black Ops M’BengaEpic+Isolytic Defense vs Flashpoint Hostiles & Invading Entities800 %Restores Shield Health each round vs hostiles 10 %
SNW Black Ops ChapelRare+Positive Rep gain vs Fed/Kli/Rom hostiles450 %+Hull Health500 %

Why the Hype?

  • M’Benga delivers the single‑largest isolytic defense boost in the game—perfect for Hurak dropships.
  • His BDA is currently the only way to achieve shield HP regeneration from the lower deck.
  • Chapel’s OA turbo‑charges FKR reputation grinding, and her BDA is an upgrade over D’Vana Tendi for significant HHP.

  • SNW Pike / SNW Scotty / SNW Black Ops M’Benga (Bridge)
    • Pike keeps the ship’s hull protected while Scotty and M’Benga boost Iso‑Damage and defense.
  • M’Benga Below Deck on crit‑heavy strike teams for shield sustain during long PvE grinds.
  • Phellan / Rachel Garrett / Black Ops Chapel (Bridge)
    • The strongest FKR rep trio in the game. Zero combat capabilities, so you’ll want to make sure your lower deck compensates.
  • Chapel Below Deck can be utilized on any ship to provide a noticeable increase to hull HP.

  • Tier Wisely – Chapel reaches her “better than Tendi” breakpoint at Tier 3 (200 % Hull). M’Benga’s Iso‑Defense spike feels huge at Tier 4+.
  • Stack Additively – Chapel’s Hull HP multiplies with research and exocomps.
  • Don’t Over‑Cap Shield Regen – M’Benga’s BDA restores a flat % of max Shield; bigger shields = more regen per tick.

Black Ops M’Benga and Chapel are ideal for isolytic survivability and FKR reputation. Invest early tiers to feel immediate gains; push to T5 if you’re laser‑focused on Invading Entities or faction unlock speed‑runs.
