Commanders, a new challenge arrives for Ops 51+. Solo Outposts bring a fresh combat experience with endurance, strategy, and high-value rewards.
Solo Outposts are active for the full two months of the Deep Space Nine: Retribution arc. After the arc they will return as a recurring live feature at set times each month.
What are Solo Outposts?

Solo Outposts are not Hostiles and not Armadas. Officers or abilities that only work against Hostiles or Armadas will not apply. Outposts appear in specially marked systems and are guarded by wave-based Retaliation Attackers.
How It Works

- Build the Outpost Control Center
Unlock it at Ops 51 through the Outpost Command Schematics gift. Upgrade it with Common Outpost Command Cores earned in Solo Outpost battles. Benefits include increased Outpost Loot, higher Weapon Damage versus Outposts, and improved HHP for Federation, Romulan, and Klingon ships. At level 40 it raises your Outpost Fleet Size to three ships. - Generate Materials with new station services
Constructing the Outpost Control Center unlocks the Material Fragment Generator. It passively produces Material Fragments that you can convert into Refined Ore, Crystal, and Gas. Use Material Fragment Storage and the Material Fragment Warehouse to expand capacity. - Launch and capture
Spend Outpost Strike Directives to start an attack, then move your ships into the circle before the countdown ends. You begin with two participating ships. At Outpost Control Center 40 and above you can bring three. Defeat the Outpost to claim it. Solo Outposts, like Away Team Assignments, require you to leave your ships at the encounter until they are defeated or until they are removed. Players do not need to engage each hostile individually–the battles will occur automatically when the countdown hits “00” each wave. - Hold the line
Once captured, Retaliation Attackers strike every five minutes. Only the ships that captured the Outpost can defend it. You cannot reinforce or replace them. Withdrawing a ship abandons the Outpost. - Survive the waves
Repel up to 72 total attacks across six hours. The first 42 are Wave 1. The final 30 are Wave 2 with tougher enemies and bigger rewards. Attackers target based on the combat triangle. For example, a Battleship will focus your Explorer first if one is present. While holding, your defending ships cannot be targeted by other players and cannot activate their own abilities (such as cloaking, field repair, etc).
Outpost Upgrades and Temporary Buffs
While you hold an Outpost you can activate temporary Outpost Upgrades. One path strengthens the defending ships. Other paths buff your entire fleet while you continue to hold the Outpost. The longer you endure, the stronger your position and payout.
Factions and Mechanics
All Solo Outposts share Diverted Power, which sets a floor for Critical Hit Damage they take.
- Independent Outposts
Tutorial encounters that introduce the rules. Upgrades boost Weapon Damage against Retaliation Attackers, HHP, Mitigation versus Hostiles and Armadas, and Isolytic Defense in PvP and Station Combat. - Cardassian Outposts
Nor-Class Deflectors boosts the Outpost’s Apex Barrier at the start of combat. Upgrades improve Apex Shred, Cargo Capacity, Loot from Hostiles, Officer Stats, HHP, Mining Speed, and Hazard Protection. Found near Federation space. - Node Outposts
Psionic Assault damages the hull of a targeted ship at the start of each round. Upgrades favor PvP and Station Combat with higher Critical Damage, Apex Barrier, Iso Defense, Iso Damage, and Apex Shred, while reducing enemy Critical Damage. Found near Klingon space. - Borg Outposts
Isolytic Burst increases outpost Isolytic Damage at the start of combat. Upgrades raise Iso Defense, Critical Hit Chance, Mitigation, Iso Cascade Damage, Apex Barrier, and Critical Damage. Found near Romulan space.
Independent Outposts make a brief appearance in G5 regions. In G7 space you will find Cardassian, Node, and Borg Outposts together.
Rewards and the Outpost Refinery
Capturing an Outpost grants currency you can trade for grade-specific resources and materials in the Outpost Refinery. You also earn more currency for each successful five-minute defense.

- Outpost Retaliation Medals
Earned by defending against Retaliation attacks. Exchange them for high-tier rewards such as Epic Officer Nog, Hijacked Refits, Galactic Acclaim, specialized building upgrade currencies, and the Rare title: Outpost Adept. - Retaliation Plunder
Earned by defeating Wave 2 attackers. Exchange it for U.S.S. Vengeance Blueprints, Epic Officer The Hierarch, Premium Mirror Dust, select Prime Particles, and the Epic title: Outpost Master.
The Outpost Battle Pass also features shards of Epic Officer The Hierarch.
Where To Find Outposts
Look for specially marked systems across Federation, Klingon, and Romulan borders. Cardassian Outposts appear near Federation space. Node Outposts appear near Klingon space. Borg Outposts appear near Romulan space. Independent Solo Outposts act as tutorial encounters, giving players a chance to learn the feature’s mechanics. All Independent Outposts are Level 51 and can be located in R’omer, Vythos, and Lychnis.

Quick Tips
- Bring officers whose abilities work in any encounter. Hostile-only and Armada-only abilities will not trigger here.
- Plan for a session that can last up to six hours if you aim to clear all 72 waves.
- Use the combat triangle to direct incoming damage and keep your key ship alive.
- Upgrade the Outpost Control Center for more loot, better damage versus Outposts, stronger HHP, and a three-ship offense at Outpost Control Center level 40.
- Keep the Outpost held to maintain your temporary buffs for both defense and your wider fleet.
Solo Outposts deliver a new test of endurance and resource planning with real growth paths and meaningful rewards. Claim the Outpost. Hold against the waves. Power up your fleet.
Live Long and Prosper,
-The Star Trek Fleet Command Team.
