Patch Notes: Update 75 – Year of Hell (Part 2)

By Bek 4 February 2025

“It has been some time since I have felt anything resembling hope. It’s time to rescue my crew.”
Time. We all just need a little more time. What if you had nothing but time?

Voyager has been trapped, its crew caught in a never-ending loop of destruction and misery, while their home quadrant burns under the flag of the Krenim Empire. Their bodies have been beaten down, their minds exposed to every fresh horror the galaxy can provide, all in the name of Annorax’s revenge. But their spirits… Their spirits remain strong.

Seven-of-Nine must delve once more into the depths of the Delta Quadrant. She must face parts of herself she has buried. She must save her friends.

“Let’s make this a battle that nobody remembers!”

In Update 75, we pick up right where Part 1 left off. As the Krenim Imperium tightens its hold on the Delta Quadrant, Seven-of-Nine embarks on a rescue mission that tests her resolve like never before. From new missions and a powerful USS Relativity, to Krenim Formation Armadas and brand-new officers, there’s plenty to discover in the next phase of Voyager’s Year of Hell arc.

Seven-of-Nine plunges into the Delta Quadrant to rescue her former Voyager crewmates. Confront old traumas, battle the Krenim, and decide whether Annorax’s revenge will be allowed to take its final form.

Doctor Chaotica returns in a pulp-style sci-fi adventure. He’s kidnapped Queen Arachnia, and Captain Proton must save the galaxy from Chaotica’s galactic takeover. It’s a lighthearted reprieve amid the darkness—don’t miss this comedic escapade!

The USS Relativity, a 29th-century timeship, is warping into Star Trek Fleet Command as part of the Year of Hell, Part 2 arc. Originally introduced in Star Trek: Voyager, this advanced Federation vessel was designed to protect the timeline from paradoxes and disruptions. Now, it has been enlisted to counter the growing Krenim threat, bringing time-bending mechanics and powerful new abilities to the game.

Commanders at Shipyard Level 42+ can construct this Epic Grade 4 Explorer by collecting 200 blueprints from the Department of Temporal Investigations (DTI) Faction Store, able to be sourced day one of the release. The Relativity’s standout feature is its Temporal Stance Switching, allowing players to toggle between Anti-Charged and Anti-Static modes to counteract the devastating abilities of Krenim Invading Entities and Formation Armadas. Additionally, the ship boasts powerful passive abilities, including Anti-Tachyon Weaponry, which boosts damage against Krenim enemies, and Relative Growth, which increases Encrypted Intelligence rewards to accelerate faction reputation gains.

Beyond its combat capabilities, the USS Relativity unlocks a specialized research tree, offering buffs such as improved warp range, cargo capacity, and increased damage output against Krenim forces. With 15 upgrade tiers, Commanders can strengthen the ship through the DTI Faction Store, unlocking exclusive rewards like Officer Seska shards and the Strand of Krenim Hair Artifact along the way.

For a more detailed look at the USS Relativity, check out the separate article and video that we released a few days ago about the USS Relativity.

To complement the USS Relativity, new research nodes are available for increased effectiveness in the ongoing temporal war:

Boost the warp range of the USS Relativity.

Gain more loot from defeating Krenim Invading Entities while in the USS Relativity.

Increase damage dealt to Krenim Invading Entities.

Expand the USS Relativity’s cargo capacity.

Gain more loot from defeating Krenim Formation Armadas in the USS Relativity.

Increase damage dealt to Krenim Formation Armadas.

Increase Apex Barrier Strength against Krenim Invading Entities (when Officer Tal is not on the bridge).

Increase hull health for all ships.

Increase shield health for all ships.

Progressing through the DTI Faction (introduced in Update 74) now offers access to essential items for the USS Relativity:

  • USS Relativity Ship Parts
  • Static and Charged Research Dust
  • Exclusive Officer Claims: Gain access to Officer Seska shards as you tier up your USS Relativity, with a guaranteed full unlock of Seska at Tier 5
  • Exclusive Artifact Claims: Gain access to the Strand of Krenim Hair Artifact shards as you tier up your USS Relativity, with a guaranteed unlock at Tier 6.
  • Relativity Daily Claim
  • USS Relativity Blueprints
  • DTI Favor – Temporal Flux Countermeasures

The Krenim have banded their devastating Temporal Dreadnoughts into formations, posing a colossal threat to any who dare challenge them.

Charged Temporal Dreadnought

  • Ability: Charged Quantum Shielding
  • Increases defenses cumulatively each round if the USS Relativity’s Static Temporal Shift Ability is not active.

Static Temporal Dreadnought

  • Ability: Static Collider Cannon
  • Increases Isolytic Damage cumulatively each round if the USS Relativity’s Charged Temporal Shift Ability is not active.

Neutral Temporal Dreadnought

  • Ability: Neutralised Shift
  • Lacks a phase alignment (Charged/Static), meaning you can defeat it without the USS Relativity’s special abilities.

While the USS Relativity is able to utilize its stance-switching abilities to combat these Temporal Dreadnaughts overall, it cannot defeat all three nodes in a single formation armada alone. For optimal results, try using two USS Relativity ships in your total group to target the Static and Charged Temporal Dreadnaughts. Lean on your alliance mates when going up against these foes to ensure a full completion!

Commanders will need 100 Krenim Formation Directives to engage with the new Krenim Formation Armadas.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving your gameplay experience, we have another round of bug fixes and tweaks on the way. In addition to the fixes we’ve previously mentioned coming to Update 75, the list below completes the fixes launching this release.

  • PVE Temporal Apex Barrier Buff
Previously, the DTI store’s PVE Temporal Apex Barrier buff did not clarify it doesn’t affect Armadas or Invading Entities. We updated the description so everyone knows precisely what it does—and doesn’t—do.
  • Encrypted Intelligence Cooldown Improvement
Removed the cooldown from the Encrypted Intelligence Exchange
  • Chaos Tech Art Missing
The visuals for “Chronophage” and “Chrono Deflector” sometimes didn’t appear until you opened Chaos Tech and returned to the store. These items will now display properly on first visit.
  • Chrono Deflector Name Correction
The “Chrono Deflector” bundle appeared incorrectly as “Temporal Overdrive Matrix” in the DTI faction store. It’s been renamed to its proper title.
  • Epic Encrypted Intelligence Bundle
The rank names in the “Epic Encrypted Intelligence” bundle description were mismatched. They’ve been updated to reflect the correct in-game reputation ranks.
  • DTI Favors Overlapping ‘View Galaxy’
Expanding the DTI Favors list caused it to overlap the “View Galaxy” button. Now, that button remains fully visible and clickable.
  • “View Galaxy” Button Greyed Out
Players not in an alliance could find the “View Galaxy” and “Arena” buttons disabled after switching faction screens. Both buttons should remain functional regardless of alliance status.
  • DTI Headquarters Text Formatting
The building name appeared in the incorrect case (“Temporal Investigations”). We’ve updated it to appear in uppercase/capital format, matching the style of other building titles.
  • Faction Icon Art in DTI Systems
Certain DTI systems displayed a black square instead of the intended faction icon in the system object viewer. We’ve restored the correct artwork.
  • Encrypted Intelligence Drops Improvement
Increased the Encrypted Intelligence drops from G4 and G5 Krenim Invading Entities
  • Charged & Static Krenim Invading Entities
    • Missing Ability Names: The entity abilities weren’t labeled in the object viewer, scan view, and battle reports. Those ability names and descriptions now appear as intended.
    • Single Ability Instead of Two: Some scans only showed one ability for Invading Entities. Scans will now reveal both abilities properly.
    • Extra Quotation Marks: Descriptions began and ended with quotes. We removed those stray punctuation marks.
  • Orenthis Constellation Warp Range
The warp range was listed as 175 instead of the intended 150. It has been adjusted to its intended warp range.
  • Icheb’s Art
An infinite spinning icon sometimes replaced Icheb’s dialogue art. Now, his artwork loads without any issues.
  • Tuvok’s OA Tooltip
The short description for Infiltrator Tuvok displayed incorrect stats. This has been adjusted.
  • Missing Max Buff Values
Officer abilities for Icheb, Specialist Seven, and Infiltrator Tuvok didn’t display their maximum buff values. The correct max buffs are now shown in each officer’s ability text.
  • Voyages Past Part 1
Certain dilemmas appeared as “Retrieving” instead of their proper names. We’ve replaced those placeholders with the correct text.

  • Hazard Defense Stats
Ship hazard defense values were shown as raw strings in the detail tabs. We’ve replaced those placeholders with user-friendly text.
  • Tutorial Phasers (Bussard Collectors)
During the tutorial, phasers were firing from the Bussard collectors instead of the pulse phaser arrays. We’ve aligned the VFX so they fire from the correct location.
  • Mirror Research with G6 Sigma
Some mirror research nodes were dependent on G6 Sigma research. Mirror nodes no longer hinge on G6 content.
  • Alliance Icon on Starbase
The Alliance icon above the Starbase occasionally appeared broken or distorted. We’ve fixed the display so the correct logo shows.
  • Battle Report Overlap
Enemy ship ability icons and ship names sometimes overlapped in combat report info.
  • Hailing Frequency vs. Repair Text
The Hailing Frequency icon could overlap with “REPAIR SHIP” inside ship management.
  • Picard Icon Overlap
In some localized (FR/IT/DE/ES/BRPT/RU) versions, the Picard HUD pop-up overlapped its own description text.
  • Artifacts Remnant Bundles Not Appearing
Krenim Time Weapon or Janeway’s Silver Pocket Watch artifact bundles did not show up in the Artifact tab under the Refinery, even after meeting requirements. This has been fixed.
  • White Background on Login Screen
We’ve corrected an issue that caused the login screen to display a white background and overlapping text.

Thank you for your patience and support—together, we’ll keep making Star Trek Fleet Command better.

With Year of Hell: Part 2, Seven-of-Nine’s quest ramps up as she leads a daring charge into the heart of the Delta Quadrant’s chaos. Commanders can now pilot the USS Relativity, bolster their fleets with newly introduced research and faction rewards, and confront the Krenim’s most potent Formation Armadas yet.

Embrace these new systems, form alliances, and prepare for the ultimate showdown. The fate of Voyager’s crew—and possibly the entire quadrant—rests in your hands.

Live Long and Prosper,
The Star Trek Fleet Command Team
