Fleet Commander Lorca joins Star Trek Fleet Command

Introduced in 2023, Fleet Commanders are officers who provide buffs directly from the Command Center building located in the station. Since then, the feature has not had many updates, but that changes in the month of September with Update 70.

Player Feedback

Our team received feedback regarding Fleet Commanders, and a main callout was for improved buffs and a better UI. From this feedback, the team not only made updates to the feature as a whole, but brought in Gabriel Lorca. Fleet Commander Lorca has the ability to provide a massive damage buff to all fleet ships, making him a unique addition to Star Trek Fleet Command.

Fleet Commander Lorca

This ability is unlocked at level 5 under the combat tree, and the cooldown in between the active time can be decreased through Fleet Commander upgrades. Lorca will also have a selection of abilities, marking him as a useful addition to any fleet. 

In addition to a new slot for Fleet Commanders, there will now be a new icon with an Active Ability button. This button will be used to activate the buff and will also incorporate the cooldown timer for when the ability can be used again.

*Once the button is activated, an animation will be played across all ships in the bottom dock to show that the ability is active for all ships. 

This ability will only work if the relevant fleet commander is slotted in the first Fleet Commander slot. While the Command Center will still be required to unlock your Fleet Commander’s abilities, those requirements have been greatly reduced. In addition, Fleet Commander Rank requirements have been lowered across the board–something that was not mentioned in today’s video.

While not starting Day 1, there is a plan in place for sourcing Lorca, and the team is looking into the sourcing for previously released Fleet Commanders. Make sure to keep an eye out over the next several weeks to find out how you can be sourcing this Fleet Commander.
