Outpost Control Center and Material Fragments

By Obsidian Hamster 3 December 2025

Commanders,

Following our recent Solo Outposts update, this post dives into two pillars that power the experience: the Outpost Control Center and Material Fragments. Our aim is to make these values clear, show how the systems connect, and help you plan your next upgrades.

Outpost Control Center at a Glance

You can construct the Outpost Control Center at Operations 51 after claiming the gift containing Outpost Control Schematics.

Upgrading requires two core items:

  • Common Outpost Control Cores: Dropped from the PvE chest when you defeat an Outpost, or available in the Store.
  • Rare Outpost Control Cores: Sourced from the Outpost Battle Pass or available in the Store. Rare Cores start being required from OCC level 51 and up.

The Outpost Control Center grants access to the Outpost Refinery with a wide slate of rewards, including base and Sigma Resources, Materials, Vengeance Blueprints, Federation/Klingon/Romulan Ship Refits, Epic Officers, multiple Prime Particles, and more.

Why upgrade: Buffs and Key Milestones

Investing in the Outpost Control Center increases the impact of Solo Outposts and strengthens your broader roster.

  • Up to +5000% Weapon Damage against Outposts.
  • Up to +400% Solo Outpost Components dropped from Outpost Retaliation ships.
  • Up to +2500% Hull Health (HHP) for Federation, Klingon, and Romulan ships.
  • Additional Outpost ship slot at OCC level 40, significantly increasing the fleets you can field against Outpost targets.
  • An extra Fleet Preset at Operations 67, expanding your loadout flexibility.

Note: Exact values depend on your current building level. Reward availability in the Outpost Refinery may rotate over time.

Material Fragments: The Upgrade Engine

Material Fragments are generated via the Outpost Control Center and exchanged in the Material Fragments Refinery for additional Refined Materials.

Each level contributes across three layers:

  1. Material Fragment Production – generates Fragments to exchange for extra Refined Materials.
  2. Material Fragment Storage – how many Fragments can sit in the building before claiming.
  3. Material Fragment Capacity – total Fragments you can hold after claiming.

Upgrading the Outpost Control Center increases production and storage, raises capacity, and unlocks higher‑quality bundle tiers in the Material Fragments Refinery.

Eligibility and Bundle Tiers by Grade

Note: Eligibility is based on Operations level; bundle tiers unlock at specific Outpost Control Center levels.

Tip: Keep your Production claimed so you don’t hit Storage or Capacity limits—steady claiming means steadier refinements.

The Recommended Loop

  1. Run Solo Outposts regularly to earn Common Control Cores.

  2. Engage with the Outpost Battle Pass to earn Rare Control Cores.

  3. Upgrade the Outpost Control Center to boost buffs, increase Material Fragment Production/Storage/Capacity, and unlock higher‑value refinery bundles.

  4. Claim and refine Material Fragments on a regular cadence to fill in your Materials needs across grades.

Bringing It Together

The Outpost Control Center ties Solo Outposts into your broader progression: stronger fleets for Outposts, better component drops, durable buffs for your Federation, Klingon, and Romulan ships, and a steady stream of Materials through the Material Fragments refinery. Keep an eye out for Update 85 in the coming days, with improvements aimed at deepening support for the Outpost Control Center.

Whether you are just building at Ops 51 or pushing toward the highest tiers, consistent Outpost runs and building upgrades turn the OCC into a reliable engine for your roster.

Live Long and Prosper,
