Mid-Month Update
Continuing the “Year of Hell” arc, we’re introducing fresh content and enhancements in this 74.1 patch. Below, you’ll find details on new Bonus Material Converters, additional Prime nodes, and a special Artifact release—landing on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Improvements
Opt-Out Animations and Banners
- Players are now able to opt-out of several standard animations.
- Players are now able to disable in-game banners.
Department of Temporal Investigations
The DTI now offers G6 Speedups in exchange for both Static & Charged Credits.
Krenim Imperium
The Krenim have increased their presence in the quadrant after early success in the invasion. Their ranks have been reinforced allowing them to advance into more systems.
- It will now be easier to encounter Krenim at each level.
*System Nivara has a lower than intended number of Krenim, and will be rectified in Update 75.
One-Time Bonus Material Converters
Building on our DTI Headquarters feature from the initial Update 74, we’re introducing Bonus Material Converters to give you extra flexibility in managing your resources:
- Converter Choice Tokens
- A one-time claim of five tokens becomes available at DTI Building Levels 20, 30, 50, 60, and 70.
- Recurring Claim (Level 40+)
- Once you hit Level 40, you’ll unlock a recurring claim of Bonus Converter Tokens every 14 days.
- Bonus Converter Refineries
- Activated when you hold more than one Claim Token. These refineries feature no cooldowns and no tax.
- Token Usage
- Each use of a Bonus Refinery deducts one Claim Token. Once your tokens reach zero, the bonus refinery disappears until you earn more.
- Limited-Time Acquisition
- Throughout this month, certain special events will grant access to Bonus Converter Tokens, helping you optimize your resource conversions even further.
New Primes
In keeping with the spirit of the “Year of Hell” arc—and to support Commanders looking to enhance both new and existing ships—Update 74.1 introduces three new Prime Nodes:
Prime: Cost Efficiency in Shape Memory Alloy
- Reduces the cost of Shape Memory Alloy when upgrading your Borg Cube.
- Found in Ex-Borg Tree.
Prime: x% Loot Bonus from Borg Type 03 Solo Armadas
- Provides a significant loot bonus when using the SS Revenant against Borg Type 03 Solo Armadas.
- Found in Starships Tree.
Prime: Ship Select Efficiency II
- This 3-level Prime provides cost efficiency for the following ships:
- NX-01
- Eviscerator
- Vindicator
- Monaveen
- Protector
- Found in Station Tree.
New Artifact: Annorax Datapad
Continuing the “Year of Hell” theme, the Annorax Datapad Artifact offers a powerful advantage:
- Annorax Datapad
- Effect: Increases Apex Barrier when fighting any Non-Armada Hostile (up to +2500 at level 12).
- Note: This effect does not apply if Tal is assigned to your bridge.
- Range: +500 → +2500 Apex Barrier bonus.
Artifact Acquisition
Players can unlock the Annorax Datapad during Week 3 of this month’s arc, specifically through selected events:
- Krenim Obliterator – Regional SLB
- Earn 1/2 of the total unlock shards.
- Krenim Crusher – SLB
- Earn 1/4 of the total unlock shards.
- The Brutal Neutral Meta – SMS
- Earn the remaining 1/4 of the total unlock shards.
By participating in these events, Commanders can obtain the complete Artifact and take their fight against the Krenim menace to the next level.
Event Reminders
- Territory Capture begins today, January 21.
- Alliance Tournaments return January 22.
